Fusilier of the Infantry Regiment no. 35, Prussia 1745

The line infantry were troops who fought on foot. Armed with muskets, bayonets and swords, they were effective only when shooting in a coordinated manner at a distance of under 50 metres, and in hand-to-hand combat when they reached the enemy. 

The Prussian infantry were trained to fight in three lines, with a degree of training that allowed them to fire three to five shots for every two fired by their enemies, and to switch from battle line to column, and the reverse, in a single movement.

 From 1740 to 1756, The Prince Henry of Prussia Fusilier Regiment was known as regiment no. 35. When the Seven Years War broke out, it was stationed in Potsdam and was formed from units of the Infantry Regiment no. 6, and grenadiers of the battalions from the Memel and Pillaw garrisons. Volunteers were recruited to complete the regiment. It played a decisive role in the Seven Years War.
