 "Por Dios, por la Patria y el Rey, lucharon nuestros padres. Por Dios, por la Patria y el Rey, lucharemos nosotros también". El sentimiento político carlista permanecía muy arraigado en la España de 1936, sus milicias se organizaron en los llamados Tercios de Requetés. Formados principalmente por humildes labradores, llegaron a integrar a más de 60 000 voluntarios. Lucharon a favor del bando Nacional, con el objetivo de defender la religión católica y oponerse al marxismo.
