The Hitites were the inhabitants of Palestine who opposed to the inroads of the Hebrew invaders. The first news we have about this nation can be fixed back to the year 2400 b.C. date on which they settled in the Capadocia till aprox. 1900 b. C. They conquered the Anatoly. They were the forerunners of the iron weapons and in the year 1286 b.C. they defeated the Egyptian troops commanded by Ramses II in the battle of Kadesh. The falling of Carchemise by Sargon in the year 717 b.C. marked an end to the political independence of the Hitites.
