1300 b.C. Asirian King

The origin of the Assyrians is mainly the same as of the Babylonians, as they were a mixture of Semites, Sumerians and Babylonians. The first reports we have on this nation, date back to the year 2050 b.C. From the existenceof the town of Assur, the name of Assyrian originates and as king Ilu-Chuma fought against the western Semite king Su-Abu, who founded the first Babylonian dinasty. They achieved their maximum grandeur from the period between the years 883 to 612 b. C. They were invaded by the Mades and the Scythians, the last Assyrian king being Sinchariskuno, year 606 b.C.
